Yoyo Yorùbá (the “App”) is a multilingual children’s language-learning app published by The Ifa Company®. This policy explains how the App handles information. It is written for the parents, guardians and teachers who install the App and supervise its use.
01Information we do not collect
The App does not collect any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, usernames or passwords — there are no accounts.
- Photographs, video, voice recordings or contacts — the App does not request camera, microphone or contacts access.
- Location data of any kind.
- Advertising identifiers. The App contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- Payment card details. See Subscriptions and payments below.
02Information stored on your device
Lesson progress, completed activities, language selection, audio and volume preferences and similar settings are stored locally on the device by the App. This information stays on the device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when the App is deleted. Depending on your device settings, it may be included in a device backup made by Apple or Google under their own terms.
03Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed entirely through Apple in-app purchase and Google Play billing. We never see or store your payment card details. The store confirms to the App whether an active subscription exists on the store account so that premium lessons can be unlocked. Billing records are held by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies, and any refund, receipt or billing enquiry is handled by them.
04Diagnostics and crash reports
The App may receive anonymous crash and performance reports through the standard tools provided by Apple and Google. These reports describe device type, operating system version and the technical circumstances of a fault. They do not identify you or your child, and we use them only to fix defects and improve stability. Sharing of this diagnostic data can be turned off in your device’s own privacy settings.
05Content delivery
Lesson illustrations and audio may be downloaded from our content servers or a content delivery network. Those requests produce standard server logs containing an IP address, device type and the file requested. Logs are used to operate and secure the service and are kept for a short operational period only. They are not used to build a profile of any user.
06Children’s privacy
The App is designed for children and is intended to be used with the involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to disclose, sell or share, and no verifiable parental consent mechanism is required for us to operate it. We do not sell or share personal information about children, and we do not permit behavioural advertising in the App. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact us at contact@ifacompany.com and we will delete it.
07No sale or sharing of data
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or trade it with data brokers. We disclose information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of users.
08Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the App: Apple and Google for distribution, billing and crash reporting, and our hosting and content delivery provider for lesson media. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes beyond what their own terms describe.
09Retention
On-device data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App. Server logs are retained for a short operational period. We hold no user database, so there is no stored profile to retain or delete.
10Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the App and its content, including encrypted connections for content delivery. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11International use
The App is operated from the United States, and our servers and those of our providers are located there. If you use the App from elsewhere, the limited technical information described above will be processed in the United States.
12Your rights
Where local law gives you rights of access, correction or deletion, you may exercise them by writing to us. In practice, because we hold no personal information about App users, the fastest route to deleting everything the App has stored is to uninstall it from the device.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the one in force, and the date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. Material changes will be announced in the App or in its store listing.
14Contact
Write to us with any question about this policy, or about what the App stores.
