Yoyo Yorùbá
Learn Yoruba, made for kids. Ages 3+, on iOS and Android.
Yoyo Yorùbá (Yoruba) is a Yoruba language app for children from The Ifa Company®. Twenty-four hand-drawn activities teach Yoruba words, greetings, numbers, tone marks and stories — and a bird called Kókò says every word out loud, so nothing has to be read.
Inside: 271 illustrated words, greetings in four painted worlds, numbers one to twenty counted aloud, sixteen illustrated tales, ten adventure worlds, 150 everyday phrases, alphabet tracing, tone-mark practice, puzzles, memory games, songs, a review deck and a sticker album. A beginner's track teaches grown-ups too — the alphabet, the syllable ladder, what a tone mark means, and a Yorùbá keyboard. Every word is a real human voice, recorded rather than synthesised, with the tone marks written the way they are spoken.
Nothing is timed and nothing punishes a mistake. There is a quiet dashboard for grown-ups behind a passcode, with a daily time limit and a view of what your child actually knows. Available on iPhone, iPad and Android.
